Lido missed the boat that day he left the shackBut that was all he missed and he ain't comin' backA tombstone bar in a jukejoint car, he made a stopJust long enough to grab a handle off the topNext stop Chi town, Lido put the money down and let it rollHe said one more job ought to get itOne last shot 'fore we quit itOne more for the road
As a last add, I am, or was, a keyboard player back in the day, with absolutely nothing in the way of resume bullet points to show for it. Did some studio work, played with some local bar bands, blah blah, all mostly forgettable.Anyway, Lido Shuffle, which was in the repertoire of two or three of those bands, is memorable because it was just so much fun to perform.Bless you, Boz, for writing it.
My mom always said his name sounded like a foot disease. I never cared. I love his stuff.
That's a beautiful portrait of Boz. "Love, Look What You've Done to Me" is still one of my all-time favorite songs. It gets me in the heart.
I am tempted to rush out and buy that album, now that you've reminded me of it.
